Now More Than Ever, We Must Band Together

November 2024
With the 2024 election results in, Opening Doors is preparing for shifts in immigration policy and humanitarian protections that could profoundly impact our work with immigrants, refugees, and survivors of human trafficking. The incoming administration’s priorities—including a proposed mass deportation policy targeting over 13 million people, potential restrictions on asylum, and expanded enforcement measures—may severely limit resources and protections for those seeking safety and stability in the U.S. Despite these challenges, Opening Doors remains steadfast in supporting individuals on their path to self-sufficiency and belonging. As policies evolve, we will continue advocating for dignity and humanity, providing essential services to help ensure that Sacramento is a place where everyone can thrive.
Now more than ever, we must band together as a community and ensure immigrants, refugees, and survivors of human trafficking are protected and welcomed. We are calling on you—our community—to help us in our work of compassion, stability, and resilience. Your donations are urgently needed to:
- Support legal services to help immigrant families defend against unjust deportation.
- Provide trauma-informed services to victims of persecution, violence, and trafficking.
- Offer housing assistance, healthcare guidance, and workforce training that allow new Americans to contribute fully to their communities.
Each dollar you give makes a tangible difference, ensuring that our immigrant neighbors can build a secure future. Please consider a gift today—whatever you can give will go directly to work that builds a stronger, safer, and more welcoming community for all.
