Helping immigrants secure legal status
Opening Doors' Immigration Legal Services Program provides pro bono (free) legal representation to individuals and families throughout the greater Sacramento region, including support with naturalization (citizenship), Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), and adjustments of status (green cards). We provide services related to various forms of humanitarian relief and are one of the few organizations in the region providing pro bono representation to clients in immigration court, the vast majority of whom are seeking asylum.
DOJ-Accredited Representatives
Opening Doors’ immigration legal services are provided by licensed attorneys and Department of Justice (DOJ)-accredited representatives—trained, non-attorney professionals authorized to offer immigration legal assistance through recognized nonprofit organizations. Depending on their accreditation, they may represent clients before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and immigration courts.
Our accredited representatives expand access to affordable, high-quality legal support for immigrants and refugees.
